The row between Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho continues, now with the Manchester City manager responding after the Portuguese coach said that he had won three titles in England, but in a fair and clean manner.

It’s worth remembering that this exchange between Guardiola and Mourinho began when, last Sunday, during Manchester City‘s defeat at Anfield against Liverpool, the Spanish coach raised six fingers in the direction of the Reds fans, recalling the Premier League titles he had won in eight years in England.

Jose Mourinho, who won three English championships with Chelsea, was remembered as he too had made a similar gesture, and he took a shot in Guardiola’s direction this Friday, recalling the 115 alleged financial offences that Manchester City have committed and which could lead to the Citiyzens‘ relegation.

“What I said was just a joke. José Mourinho is another in the long list of people who want us, I don’t know, in League One or the Conference League. I’ll answer him the same way: we’re innocent until proven guilty. So let’s see what happens, but what I said was just a joke,” said Pep Guardiola.

“Both of us, him with Chelsea and me with Manchester City, can sit round the table with Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger for the many titles we’ve won. If I offended Mourinho, I apologise, but I was joking. He has three, I have six, that’s a fact, but I didn’t want to hurt him. I’ve said it several times, let’s wait for the judgment. In a democracy, we’re all innocent until proven guilty, right?” added the Spanish coach.
